A Blessing at Tissington Well Dressing

Alan Griggs, RAD's Agricultural Chaplain took part in the annual Tissington Well Dressings on Thursday 5th May. He was at the Blessing of Hands Well, depicting Genesis 2: 18-23; an account of Adam naming the animals in the garden found in Eden.

Alan highlighted the importance of working on the land and raising livestock.  It is a sacred task which is assigned to the farming community in Derbyshire to work and care for the land, the plants and the animals; remembering that many farmers do so in the face of extreme challenges in our modern age.
