Mental Health Awareness Training Courses
Derbyshire Mental Health Forum has won a contract offered by Derbyshire County Council Public Health to deliver Mental Health Awareness Training courses across Derbyshire over the next 2 years.
Working in partnership with Derbyshire Mind, forty courses will be delivered to people from statutory and voluntary organisations, 25% in Derby City and 75% in Derbyshire County. The courses start in November 2015.
The full day course is designed to give participants an understanding of the issues that arise for people suffering from mental distress and illness, to challenge myths and reduce stigma and to offer ways to support others experiencing mental distress.
The course is ideal for non-mental health trained staff and volunteers from a broad range of statutory, community and voluntary sector organisations who may come into contact with vulnerable individuals and also those organisations that deliver training and support related to mental health and wellbeing.
Courses run from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Places are limited, so book early - Telephone 01773 599995 or visit their website www.dmhf.org.uk/MHAtraining.
