Heating Oil prices continue to fall

Derbyshire Community Oil Buying Scheme continues to make some great savings for members.  The oil price has been dropping for over a year now and even though the price of heating oil is now less than 30 pence per litre, our scheme continues to save money for members.  The average oil price from local suppliers this week for 500 litres is 29.48 pence per litre and the average price of local suppliers and online quotes is 27.89 pence per litre.  The price for RAD members is 26.05 pence per litre so a saving of £17.15 for 500 litres against the average local supplier price.

All you need to do to join is register on the website here, There is no joining fee or annual membership fee, but we take a small levy from each oil order to cover our administration costs.  The price above of 26.05 ppl includes our levy, so there are NO ADDED COSTS, just great value heating oil.

We order oil once a month and the delivery date is usually within 2 weeks of the order deadline.  If you have any special requirements such as delivery on specific days or your property has access issues so needs a small tanker then the scheme may not work for you. We work with about 8 oil suppliers and the majority of them do not have small tankers.  If you're not sure, just call Emma Simpson, the project officer who can discuss the scheme with you.

The oil order deadline is always a Tuesday at 12 noon, the dates are as follows:

Delivery is usually within 10 working days of the day following the deadline.
