Many playgrounds in Derbyshire are the responsibility of town and parish councils, playing field committees, village hall management committees or other voluntary organisations.  

A RoSPA Playsafety Inspector and Trainer and a member of the Register of Play Inspectors International Ltd (RPII) will be leading a half day training on Thursday 16th July from 12.15pm to 4.00pm at Hilton Village Hall.

Places are limited and the cost is £45.  Book early to avoid disappointment.

The course will cover the following elements:

  • Essential aspects of inspection and maintenance.
  • Accessibility of the playground with regard to the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.
  • Different items of play equipment and surfacing.
  • Risk benefit judgements.
  • Play for older children.
  • Management, legislation, standards and guidelines.
  • Looking after natural play spaces.
