Suicide Awareness Training Seminar on 11th March at Alison House, Cromford

Rural Action Derbyshire are holding an additional Suicide Awareness Training Seminar on Wednesday 11th March 2015 from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

This seminar cost is subsidised, but there is a small charge of £35 for attendance. The full cost of the seminar should be £75. The seminar fee includes a delegate toolkit.

The aim of the seminar is to increase awareness - and to help remove the stigma which can be a barrier for those in need of help - this half-day training seminar should be of interest to anyone who works with people 16 years plus and wishes to:
  • Examine their own attitudes
  • Find out (and challenge) the myths that surround suicide
  • Discover the likely suicide risk factors and warning signs
  • Find out how you might help someone at risk of suicide and self-harm
  • Take advantage of a great networking opportunity
  • The seminar includes group work and open discussions and participation is encouraged. Delegates are asked to respect views of others and to keep any sensitive information shared confidential following the training.
    The seminar commences at 1.30pm and concludes at 4.30pm. Registration and networking are from 1.15pm. Drinks and biscuits will be provided at the seminar, on arrival and mid-way through the seminar.
    The seminar is being held at Alison House Hotel in Cromford near Matlock. There is free parking on site.
