The unseen volunteers that are helping their communities to thrive
Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) works with rural community councils throughout England, including us in Derbyshire, and they are only too aware of the hard work and dedication that thousands of local volunteers put in to run their village hall or community building.
Louise Beaton, an ACRE Trustee has written an informative blog on this army of people who work not just to provide a community space for parties, plays, playgroups and pilates but also are branching out to offer services within their community too. A growing number are providing facilities from shops and post offices to clinics and libraries.
Read Louise's blog here, or contact us about how you can volunteer in your local community or receive a range of information, advice and support on running a village hall or community building.
