Notification of Rural Action Derbyshire’s Annual General Meeting 2018

You are cordially invited to attend the 2018 RAD AGM which will be held on:

Wednesday 19th September 2018 at 1.30pm

The Angler’s Rest – Community owned pub, post office and café, Main Road, Bamford, Hope Valley, S33 0DY

The focus for this year’s meeting is ‘Community Assets’

‘Community assets’ enhance the services that organisations or groups provide in their local area. Most commonly the term describes buildings, but they can also be land, local clubs and facilities, libraries, energy generation facilities, funds, volunteers or members of staff.

The Plunkett Foundation 

Supporting people to set-up and run life-changing community co-operatives to tackle issues ranging from isolation and loneliness to poverty.

Guest Speaker: Chris was appointed Head of Community Business for the Plunkett Foundation in June 2018 and leads the frontline delivery team, who provide direct support to community groups and businesses. Prior to moving to the Plunkett Foundation he worked on national policy directly relating to sustainable communities, whilst working for Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) the national umbrella body for the ACRE Network and has 10 years’ experience working in the rural community development sector.

Foundation Derbyshire

Established in 1996, Foundation Derbyshire (the operating name for Derbyshire Community Foundation) manages endowment funds of over £6.5 million and has made over £14 million of grants across Derbyshire.



At the meeting, members will have the opportunity to:

  • find out about Rural Action Derbyshire’s operations and finances and ask questions speak about any items on the agenda
  • vote on any resolutions proposed.

At the meeting, members will be asked to vote to:

  • accept the minutes of the last annual general meeting
  • accept the annual report
  • accept the annual financial statements
  • appoint accountants to for annual inspection of accounts
  • elect directors

RAD members play a key role in the board election, members can;

  • Put themselves forward for a place on the RAD board
  • Nominate another RAD member for a place on the RAD board
  • Vote for people who have been nominated for the RAD board.

Whoever you nominate must be a RAD member, must have agreed to be nominated and must be eligible.
