Community Led Housing FREE Event

This event is intended to introduce and explore a range of Community Led Housing models. Central Government has recently committed over £60 million per annum to this sector to be used for Community Led Housing projects. The event will discuss the issues and highlight the benefits of different models in bringing affordable housing forward.

Who should attend?

District and County Councils, Housing Enablers, Land Agents, Surveyors, Architects, Planners, Developers and other people involved in the promoting and planning of affordable housing schemes.

Speakers:

Andy Dean - Chief Executive, Northumberland CAN - Andy has led several schemes from conception to completion in both urban and rural locations;

John Mather - Senior Enabler, East Midlands Community Land Trust - John has a wealth of knowledge in the East Midlands area of working with communities and facilitating successful delivery;

Sarah Streater - Housing Delivery Manager, Homes England – Sarah will provide greater insight into Homes England and how they want CLH to be delivered and what financial commitment is available.

The event also welcomes Gail Jackson, CEO of Community Lincs, and information will be available on the Nationwide Foundation and ACRE; demonstrating what support can be provided.

Throughout the day several case studies from completed schemes will be shared with delegates and there will be an opportunity to hear from a Local Authority that has supported a CLH initiative.

As well as networking opportunities there will be plenty of opportunity to speak with the groups responsible for planning and delivering CLH.

The overall aim of the day is to provide an opportunity for landowners, agents, local authorities and housing developers to consider CLH as a valid and valuable way of delivering new homes which can meet the needs of local communities.
