Worrying times

The recent unrest in the UK has undoubtedly impacted us all, stirring concerns and creating an atmosphere of uncertainty. However, it's during times like these that the strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment of those in the voluntary sector truly shine. We also recognise the bravery of those in the front line, the emergency services and volunteers who work together in the most difficult of circumstances.

We must stand strong in the face of this brutality and hold firm to our goal of creating cohesive and resilient communities. We must continue to offer our hand of friendship to those who have chosen to live in the UK whether many years ago or more recentlyWe must continue to work towards tolerance and drive out racism.

We are a community built on compassion, dedication, and a shared vision of supporting those most in need. The tireless efforts, whether on the frontlines or behind the scenes, are a beacon of hope and stability for the individuals and communities we serve.

As we navigate this period of unrest, the work of the voluntary sector is even more vital. The challenges we face are significant, but so too is our collective ability to make a differenceWe have strength in each other, we will lean on each other, share our experiences, and know that we are not alone in this journey.

Let’s continue to support one another, stay focused on our mission, and keep pushing forward with the passion and dedication that defines our sector. Together, we can help heal, rebuild, and strengthen the communities that depend on us.

One of the most enduring images from all the media has been the instant response from people from all backgrounds volunteering to help clean up, provide food, shelter and refreshments.

Thank you for everything you do.
