In light of the latest Government guidelines around the Corona virus - also known as Covid 19 - Community Action has joined forces with Public Health, Derby City Council, Derby Homes, University of Derby, Thrive Derby and Derby Covid-19 Mutual Aid Facebook Group to coordinate help and support for people who live alone or who are self-isolating with partners or relatives. This coordinated response is called Derby Covid Community Support.

Community Action are contacting colleagues in the voluntary and community sector in Derby to let them know that during this time they will be focusing their services on supporting those people most affected by the crisis.

The Community Action offices will be closed to the public however, they will be continuing to do what they do best by working with their partners in the city to support volunteers and organisations. If you would like to be part of the coordinated effort please let them know the services your organisation can offer and they will compile all of this information so that it can be accessed by support workers, social prescribers and volunteers.

In addition if your services are reduced and your volunteers would like to help support people in their local community affected by Covid 19, please ask them to get in touch with Derby Covid Community Support as they are currently compiling a database of volunteers and will be matching them with people who need support. Volunteers can email [email protected] or call the dedicated number 01332 647900 which will open on Monday 23 March 2020.
