Free Village Halls Conference Ticket

It’s been a tough time for village and community halls throughout Derbyshire since Covid-19 hit. Halls had to close, but with various exceptions for those providing certain essential services, it was extremely difficult for them to understand the ever-changing regulations coming from the Government.

Their income came to a halt and although they can re-open once again many of them are having to look for more ways to generate the much needed income to make their halls sustainable and continue to provide a vital service to their local community.

Thanks to some very generous sponsorship from ESP Projects Limited, Zurich Insurance and Norris & Fisher Insurance Broker Ltd, we are now able to offer FREE tickets to our 3-day conference in November. This event is specifically aimed for the many volunteers who give their time to the community and this conference will be a great opportunity for them to “Refresh, Restart and Recover”.

A special thanks go to our Headline Sponsor, ESP Projects. They established in Sheffield in 2002 and are experienced in delivering comprehensive and professional IT services. They have friendly and caring staff and offer excellence in IT along with peace of mind to businesses of all sizes. They helped us at RAD to migrate across to a cloud-based IT system in January 2019, so when the pandemic hit it was an easy transition to home working for the team.

Harvey Morton, Marketing Manager at ESP Projects says; “We’re delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Rural Action Derbyshire Village Halls Conference. It’s important for us all to refresh, restart and recover as we ease back in to life after the COVID-19 pandemic and the work of Rural Action Derbyshire is so important.”

Green Buildings – a zero carbon future for village halls is the theme on the first day of the conference. This is sponsored by Zurich Insurance with the opening Key Note address by Cllr Barry Lewis, Leader of Derbyshire County Council.

Community Hubs is the theme for Day 2. Angelique Foster, Derbyshire’s Police & Crime Commissioner will be giving the opening key note address and we are very grateful to Norris & Fisher Insurance Brokers Ltd for their sponsorship.

Post Covid – adapt and modernise is the message for Day 3. Louise Beaton OBE will be opening the day's proceedings with some excellent sessions focussing on opportunities to generate additional income along with some of the potential risks and how to mitigate them. Once again Zurich Insurance are generously sponsoring this day.

Helena Stubbs, Community Buildings Advisor for Rural Action Derbyshire says; “We are so pleased to have the sponsorship from ESP, Zurich and Norris & Fisher as it means we can offer the tickets free of charge to halls. It’s been a tough time for them and we want to help them thrive and grow.”
