Step 4 - learning to live with the virus!

Page last updated 28th July 2021.

With the lifting of restrictions from 19 July, village and community halls can now fully open their doors and are looking forward to helping their communities get back together for a wider range of events and activities.

Last week ACRE issued an interim briefing note that provided recommendations for taking steps to keep vulnerable residents safe, whether that be maintaining well-ventilated spaces or encouraging users to wear face masks. ACRE’s Information Sheet on Opening Village Halls has now been updated and version 11 is now available along with a set of Appendices.

People are now being asked “to make informed decisions and act carefully and proportionally to manage risk to themselves and others”, rather than having to adhere to the previous Coronavirus legislation.

While legal restrictions no longer apply at Step 4, Government guidance will continue to be issued in response to any future changing circumstances of the pandemic and ACRE will update their Covid information accordingly.

Notes of the changes can be found on pages 1 & 2 of this latest Information Sheet.

NHS Poster - Keeping yourself and others safe from 19th July

While many restrictions have been lifted, COVID-19 has not gone away so it’s important we remain cautious.
By practising key behaviours we can continue to protect ourselves and others and help stop the virus spreading.

If halls want to remind users of how they should behave whilst on the premises, download the poster here.

Preparing for re-opening
