Fiona Brookes sadly passed away peacefully at home on 11th April 2024 after a short illness.

Much loved wife of Jack, daughter of Jack and Kath and a dear sister, aunt, sister-in-law and daughter-in-law who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Fiona became a trustee in February 2022 after a chance conversation in a pub. She had worked as a consultant in the voluntary sector for many years and was keen to 'give something back' and a volunteer trustee for a local charity appealed. Although she wasn’t involved with RAD for long, she was a valued member of the board, and her huge knowledge of the sector was an absolute bonus.

From Beverley Parker, RAD's CEO, "Fiona was a remarkably calm and thoughtful woman whose contribution to board meetings was always measured and insightful.  She had a vast amount of professional experience of voluntary sector governance. She will be very much missed by many, including the Board and her clients and colleagues."

We are honoured that the family have chosen Rural Action Derbyshire as one of the charities for donations in lieu of flowers, alongside Headway, the brain injury charity.

If you would like to make a donation in her memory, please click on the donate button at the top of the page, or click HERE. Please make a reference in the comments box that your donation is in her memory.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, friends and colleagues. She will be missed so much, by so many.

The Funeral Service is to be held at St. Mary’s Church, Wirksworth, on Tuesday 7th May.
