  1. What We Do
  2. Digital Inclusion

Digital Inclusion

Rural Action Derbyshire is committed to helping reduce the county's digital divide.

Having access to the internet together with appropriate, consistent support, can help individuals to engage with a variety of digital services that enable them to:

  • connect safely with family, friends, and their communities and reduce social isolation and loneliness
  • access community learning, work, and training opportunities
  • access wellbeing activities and information that can improve their health and quality of life
  • access online shopping, utility services, and digital payment options that save money and reduce the cost of living

Supporting individuals can help to build community resilience, boosting both wellbeing and the local economy.

Over the coming months, we will be refreshing our Digital Inclusion work. The key areas we will be focussing on are:

  • Working with communities, organisations and individuals to map the current digital support and inclusion offers across Derbyshire.
  • Spotting gaps in digital support, and working with our partners and local communities to develop appropriate offers.
  • Working with our partners and local communities to pilot new digital inclusion activities.
  • Continuing to support individuals who would like to train to be Digital Ambassadors and Digital Champions within their communities.

If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Charlotte Winterbottom.
