CISWO Support for Former Mineworkers and their Dependents

CISWO seeks to improve the lives of former coal miners and their families. They understand the struggles faced by those in former coal mining communities. They work to help overcome some of the barriers ex-coalminers and their families come up against and support them to lead a better quality life.

With respect to the COVID-19 crisis, Helen Ulyatt, Senior Social Worker with CISWO Welfare Offices in Mansfield said:

Our focus remains on our former mineworkers and their dependents and we are particularly trying to reach those with no support network available to them – we can assist with shopping, collecting medication, and with telephone calls to those who are lonely and isolated.

Please follow the link below to an article detailing CISWO’s services at this time, both their normal ongoing service and also a new service offer in response to the coronavirus and Lockdown.
