The team at Rural Action Derbyshire are delighted to announce that we have been Highly Commended at the 2022 Charity Times Awards

After being shortlisted for ‘Charity of the Year with an income of less than £1m’ earlier this year, RAD received special recognition in the category during Wednesday’s prestigious event.

In a contest filled with national organisations, we were one of the few regional charities outside of London to take home a prize.

Other Highly Commended institutions include countrywide bodies the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution and Churches Conservation Trust, highlighting the impressive standard of charities we have been celebrated alongside.

Beverley Parker, CEO at Rural Action Derbyshire, said: “We’re delighted to have been Highly Commended at this year’s Charity Times Awards. It’s a great result for us and wonderful recognition for the hard work we do in tackling rural poverty across the county.

“This is particularly amazing given that the vast majority of the other nominees and winners have either a national or London-based focus. It shows that, while we’re a small charity, we’re making a big difference.”

We’d like to add our congratulations to the Shared Interest Foundation, who were named as the overall winners in our category for their practical support of businesses across Africa and Latin America.
