Universal Credit Uplift Support

In August the Derbyshire Unemployed Workers Centre took to Bridlington South Beach as part of the campaign to Cancel the Cut of Universal Credit, where the 100 metre x 26 metres sand art was displayed at Bridlington Bay.

Nearly 70,000 households in Derbyshire were in receipt of Universal Credit in February 2021, the last month for which statistics are available. With the ending of furlough this figure is likely to increase rapidly. The ending of the Universal Credit £20 uplift will both suck money out of the local economy, affecting local businesses, and plunge many people deeper into financial insecurity and food poverty.

If yourself or your clients are unemployed and struggling financially, there is help available.
