As we all respond to the Coronavirus global pandemic and its implications, I'm sure that many farmers will be reminded of the Foot and Mouth outbreak and the feelings that came with it, yet, this time, it isn't just the agricultural industry that will be most affected.
The Derbyshire Rural Chaplaincy are no longer able to visit farms so we are now providing a telephone service to stay in contact with anyone that could benefit from a friendly and supportive telephone call. All our volunteers are DBS checked and adhere Rural Action Derbyshire's safeguarding policy and procedure.
During Coronavirus / Covid-19 If you know or hear of anyone that might benefit from our help, we will add them to our list for a regular call. We can also provide help to anyone who is isolated and needs to purchase essentials, adhering to all hygiene precautions and social distancing guidance.

In addition, if you hear of anyone in the agricultural community that might be struggling financially, the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, a farming support charity remains available for financial assistance (all over the phone now) to farmers and farm workers. It's a big step for farmers to access their support but, again we can help to get things moving.
