Looking after your mental wellbeing
Despite its idyllic image, living in a rural area is not without its challenges. Before the arrival of COVID-19 and the current 'Cost of Living Crisis', there were pockets of isolation and deprivation within the rural communities of Derbyshire.
Service development is often focused on urban areas, resulting in limited development of affordable housing, poor transport links, and reduced access to affordable food outlets, jobs and training in rural areas.
Rural disadvantage places an additional strain on our most vulnerable and low-income groups.
COVID-19 and a recent sharp rise in the cost of living, have both highlighted and exacerbated the issues facing many of Derbyshire's rural residents.
Working in partnership with public, private, and voluntary organisations, Financial Action and Advice Derbyshire is helping to address the disadvantages that many Derbyshire residents are facing.
